Preschool Teacher

The teacher is responsible for developing and implementing an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of each child enrolled in the program, while teaching a Christian curriculum. The Teacher will coordinate the activities and assist the Senior Lead Teacher & Directors with assigned activities.

Full-Time: 40 Hours/Week

Responsibilities:

● Maintain a positive, teachable attitude in all things, remaining Christ centered in life

● Provide servant leadership and direction for any assistants, aides, substitutes, interns, or volunteers in your program areas

● Develop and implement weekly plans and activities through in collaboration with the Director, assistants, and aides.

● Review curriculum plans and activities and evaluate program’s effectiveness through regular meetings with the Director

● Maintain a positive classroom environment through observing student behavior, assessing its appropriateness, enforcing safety regulations and emergency procedures, and applying appropriate behavior management techniques.

● Observe each child daily to assess skills, interests and needs and use this information to facilitate learning and growth

● Document the growth and development of children through appropriate record keeping

● Establish a positive, personal relationship with each child and child’s family, sharing information about the child’s day at school informally through daily interaction and formally through teacher/parent conferences

● Maintain current knowledge in the field of Early Childhood Education and attend professional development trainings as scheduled with the director

● Maintain a safe and clean environment, responding to critical incidents with First Aid procedures and

ensuring that daily cleaning responsibilities are faithfully completed

● Participate in all staff meetings, trainings, retreats, fundraisers and events

● Perform general office tasks as needed

Qualifications:

● Demonstrated success in working as a member of a team

● Effective and strong communication skills (orally and written)

● Demonstrated supervision skills of students and assistants/aides

● Bachelors in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field, OR

● Bachelors with 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 1 years of experience with children, OR

● Associates in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 2 years of experience with children, OR

● Associates with 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 3 years of experience with children.



● Certification in Pediatric First Aid/CPR, preferred
